Purpose & Vision

In addition to Calligraphy, the event days also includes a dynamic Archery Competition and an engaging Islamic Quiz Competition. Students may register for all events at: https://bento.me/cics.

The competition is designed to:

  • Encourage students to engage with the Qur’an through calligraphic arts.
  • Preserve and revive classical calligraphy techniques within academic spaces.
  • Provide a respectful platform for emerging artists to be recognised and rewarded.
  • Build bridges between tradition and the creativity of modern youth.

Event Activities & Judging

Highlights include live calligraphy demonstrations, judged performances from participating students, and an award ceremony. Judging criteria will focus on:

  • Technical skill and letterform accuracy
  • Composition, balance and use of space
  • Creativity while maintaining respect for sacred text
  • Spiritual expression and intent

Additional Competitions

Archery Competition: A skill-based traditional Islamic sport promoting discipline, patience and physical excellence. Open to male and female students.

Islamic Quiz Competition: A knowledge-based contest covering Quran, Seerah, Islamic history, ethics and general Islamic awareness.
